The Calorx School, an IBO school promoted by Calorx Foundation invited the Deputy Mayor of Ahmedabad, Dr. Kalpanaben Bhatt to share her experiences with the students of Grade 4.

The students are at present studying about the city of Ahmedabad as a part of the unit “Our City – Ahmedabad”. In order to understand the functioning of the City Government and Municipal Corporation, the students interviewed the deputy mayor on many aspects. She gave a deep insight on how the city is managed. She also reflected on her personal life and gave a very important lesson to the students that there is no particular age for studying and nothing is difficult in life. She also told students that the journey to become a Deputy Mayor was not a bed of roses. Dr. Bhatt taught students that hard work always pays.

She also mentioned some of the projects like AMTS bus service, making Ahmedabad Green etc. According to a student “I was very scared to meet the Deputy Mayor of the city but I found her really nice and down to earth”.
